Cinthya Casillas Bio

Cinthya graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing.

Her interest of engaging in the community has led her to participate in many and diverse positions.  She has volunteered at the Academy of the Americas as a Teacher Aide in the fifth grade.  She assisted the Office of Government and Community Affairs at Wayne State University, and greatly enjoyed collaborating during the planning for the annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with the Office of Community Relations.

She also devotes her time to volunteering around the community for charity, fundraising and awareness events, such as Día del Niño/Día del Libro which is annually held at Clark Park to celebrate literacy and children, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS – DIFFA, Motor City Makeover, among other events, she also recycles at Recycle HERE.

Cinthya has been working with Congress of Communities for 1 year and 3 months – she is the Project Manager for TANN (TANN Leadership Fellowship and Early Learning Projects). She has been rewarded with wonderful experiences connecting with community partners and families in Southwest Detroit.
